Synopsis

Euterpe

Concertino for Flute and Band.

“Music not only hides infinite pleasures.  Plato found after a his agreed wonderful tool to educate the soul.  What doubts fits of which melodías, sonatas and even the simplest whistle, ennoblecen the spirit and recreate our lives.”
NIETZSCHE

Music is an essential element in the life of the man.  In the nature we observed the beginning of this restlessness.  Plato imagined to the cosmos as an alive animal whose parts subsist all in harmony.  From this perspective, the universe is great pentagrama where all the notes come together perfectly.  And we corroborated it to newspaper.  The trino of a canary, crepitar of the fire, the roar of a cascade that falls on the stones and explodes, the bell of the serpent that threaten or, even, the silence of the desert is manifestations of Euterpe (musa of music).

In Greek mythology, the Musas is the nine archaic goddesses that incarnated the correct evocación of the myth, inspired through the memorizadas and improvised songs and music and dances traditional.  With the Olympic pantheon, Apolo was designated its head like Apolo Musageta.

Euterpe (“the very placentera one “, “The one of pleasant genius” or “The one of good spirit”) is the Musa of Music, specially protective of the Art to touch the Flauta.  Generally imagines it crowned of flowers and taking between its hands Doble-Flauti’n.  Its name means regocijante, charmer.

In this concertino the author tries to represent the Musa of Music, Euterpe, appearing all his enchantments.

This composition is dedicated To the memory of Jesus Alcántara who was a great lover of the Bands.
This work was released by the flautista Raquel Alcántara day 24 of May of 2003 in a concert posthumous tribute to its father Jesus, in the Flowery Audience of Paiporta (Valencia – Spain).

  1. Mr Ferran,
I would like to play “euterpe” for flute and wind band but I don’t know where to take the score and the separated parts. That music is really beautiful and really interesting for the wind band and I hope it will be able to have this score soon than possible.
    Best regards.
