El Extraño Caso del Dr Bon y Mr Ares (The Strange Case of Dr. Bon and Mr. Ares)

El extraño caso del Dr. Bon y Mr. Ares, es una composición inspirada en la novela escrita por Robert Louis Stevenson titulada “El extraño caso del doctor Jekyll y el señor Hyde” y publicada por primera vez en 1886, que trata acerca de un abogado, Gabriel John Utterson, que investiga la extraña relación entre su viejo amigo, el Dr. Henry Jekyll, y el misántropo Edward Hyde.

El libro es conocido por ser una representación vívida de un trastorno psiquiátrico que hace que una misma persona tenga dos o más identidades o personalidades con características opuestas entre sí.

En esta obra se descubrirá cómo se transforma el personaje mediante los solistas que van participando en ella, principalmente la trompeta simulando el buen carácter y el saxofón, el transformado en monstruo. Estos con sus destrezas interpretativas realizarán el papel del doctor que con sus dos caras ejecutarán ambos personajes.

Una composición atrayente y compleja, donde a parte de demostrar el virtuosismo de la orquesta, también se tendrá que mostrar los dotes artísticos en la interpretación teatral, donde todo el escenario será confidente de lo que allí va a suceder.

“The Strange Case of Dr. Bon and Mr. Ares” is a composition inspired by the novel “The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” written by Robert Louis Stevenson, first published in 1886. This tale is about a lawyer, Gabriel John Utterson, who investigates the strange relationship between his old friend, Dr. Henry Jekyll and the misanthropist Edward Hyde.

The book is known to be a vivid representation of dissociative identity disorder which causes the same person to have two or more identities with opposing characteristics, in this case good and evil.

In this work you will discover how the soloists —trumpeter and saxophonist— with their interpretative skills, perform the two personalities of the doctor. The trumpeter simulates the good character and the saxophonist the one that transforms into a monster.

An appealing and elaborate composition in which not only the virtuosity of the orchestra is demonstrated, but also the artistic skills in the theatrical interpretations by the soloists, and in which the whole stage is the confidant of everything that happens.
