    Gjallarhorn Concierto para Trompa

Synopsis

Gjallarhorn

I.- Gjallarhorn (“El cuerno que suena”)

Gjallarhorn or what is the same, “The horn sounds” is depicted as a person of mythology depicted with a horn (horn) in their hands. Concerto in three movements, where the author explores all the possibilities of the solo instrument. A work of great effect to the first and third rhythmic and aggressive movement contrasts with the second being this very “espressivo e cantabile”.

I. Gjallarhorn (“The horn sounds”)
It is led by a horn Heimdall, the guardian of the gods. I lies hidden beneath the third root of the World Tree Yggdrasil. Heimdall protected the horn Gjallarhorn, which could be heard across the sky, the earth, and the underworld; thought it would blow the horn to summon the gods to slay their enemies, the giants, and Ragnarok, the end of the world of gods and men approaching. In Ragnarok will sound one last time and be heard around the world, calling the warriors and fighters for battle. He is also called Gjall.

II Heimdall
Son of Odin. His name meant throwing light rays. He was the guardian of the gods, a god of light. Called the shining god and the god of white skin, Heimdall lived at the entrance to Asgard, where shielded Bifrost, the Rainbow Bridge. You could sleep unless a bird, could see 100 miles (557 km. And 270 m.), And I could hear the grass grow on the prairies and wool skin of a sheep. Besides his hearing was prodigious.

III Odin
It was the supreme god, the father of all men and of many of the gods. He was the god of both wisdom and war. When he sat on his throne Lidskjavl, saw everything that was happening in the world. They also had two ravens called Hugin and Munin who came every morning before breakfast and returned to account Odin everything they had seen and heard. Gere and Frece are his two wolves, they eat all the food of Odin, because he stood only wine. His horse Sleipner had eight legs and ran faster than any man or animal by air, or by land and water. He was also the god of death of the warriors, who carried Valhal to die.
