The Bible contains a story about a human
sacrifice is not consummated when God commands Abraham to offer in
sacrifice his son Isaac in a ceremonial hill. Abraham went with Isaac
to the mountain without saying that he would be killed and after he will
gather the wood for the holocaust. Bound him, put him on the altar and began
to slaughter with a knife. At that moment he was arrested by God who tells
him not to kill his son because "I already know that you fear God, hast not
withheld thy son, thine only."
Abraham is a Jewish tradition of the
patriarchs of the people of Israel. Abraham means "father of many,"
the name given in the tradition because it is believed that it was he who
initiated the progressive colonization of Hebrew tribes in Canaan.
Abraham is a very important part of
the biblical story of salvation and is considered the father of Judaism.
The Symphonic Poem recounts his life, thus
obtaining a composition of sharp contrasts. The sweetness of divine and
human existence contrasted with worry, fear and sacrifice for leading the
way of life.
